As a general matter, 3taps services are designed to be open and easily accessible by anyone in the world. If you post in or through 3taps, you should expect that your posting will be broadly and instantly disseminated. This policy is not so much concerned with your postings since there really will be no privacy as to what is disseminated to the public, but rather is concerned with the Personal Information that we might receive through your use of the 3taps services. To further understand the nature of 3taps, we urge you to also read our Terms of Service.
Information 3taps Collects
Information Collected From Users. We collect some basic information when you use the 3taps services, depending on the nature of your use of the services. Our servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) may collect information (“Log Data”) indirectly and automatically (through, for example, the use of your “IP address”) about your activities while visiting the site, including the web pages you view and the times you view them, information about the browser you are using, your IP address, the referring domain, and search terms use. Other actions, such as interactions with advertisements, may also be included in Log Data.
Further, if you post (regardless of whether you register with 3taps) we collect any information you provide in the post, such as any email address you may choose to include for purposes responding to your post. Please understand, however, that if you post without registering an account we may not have any of your Personal Information, and if we do, it may not be possible for us to link the posting to your Personal Information; this may, for example, make it impossible for us to retrieve your posting should you lose the reference information provided upon completion of the posting. We do not link Log Data the Personal Information you submit to us; we use this browsing information to personalize aspects of your search experience and for internal purposes such as to help understand how the site is being used and to improve it, and for systems administration purposes.
Information Collected Upon Registration. When you create or reconfigure a 3taps account, you provide some Personal Information, such as your name, username, and password. Some of this Personal Information, for example, your name and username, may be listed publicly in our services, including on your profile page and in search results. Some services do not require registration, such as search and posting.
Location Information. You may choose to note your location in your posting and in your 3taps profile. You can control your location information in your account settings if you are a registered user. If you access 3taps through a mobile device, the device may identify your location to 3taps.
Cookies. We may use small data files called “cookies” to collect additional website usage data and to improve our services. 3taps may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our services, and to improve our services. You can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit; however, you may not have full use of some of the services if you block all 3taps cookies.
Third Party Cookies. We may use third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. You can learn more here.
